When life gets too much and all you want is a day of relaxation and pampering, it is time for a day at Glen Ivy Hot Springs. If you have never been to Glen Ivy in Corona, California, here is a quick summary of what to expect:

Glen Ivy Hot Springs is a day spa, which offers pools of geothermal 104 F hot mineral waters that are said to have soothing powers, a mud bath, spa treatments, a sauna cave experience called The Grotto, fitness sessions, yoga, and of course, delicious and healthy food. The lush tropical landscaping also makes you feel like you are on a vacation as soon as you step through the gates. Just walking around the jungly gardens will give you a sense of calm and serenity.

Let’s look into those offers a little more in-depth, shall we?

I recently got invited to Glen Ivy Hot Springs to check out their amazing spa and hot springs. I can tell you: This was just what the doctor ordered after all the Thanksgiving prep, Black Friday shopping and Holiday stress. The massage, spa treatments, and pampering felt so rejuvenating and luxurious – I feel like a new person. If you feel a little tired and stressed, how about you treat yourself and get pampered and spoiled for a day?

Glen Ivy Hot Springs Experiences

Glen Ivy Hot Springs

The Glen Ivy Hot Springs were first recorded in 1860, over 150 years ago, but probably discovered and used by locals long before that. There are various pools of natural mineral water at Glen Ivy, each with a specific temperature and mineral composition. You will find plaques about the health benefits of each nature water pool, the temperature, and the specific bathing ritual to improve your wellbeing.

Club Mud

Club Mud is my favorite “bath” at Glen Ivy. You jump in the pool and then rub brownish-red clay all over your body (and if you dare… your face), essentially turning yourself into a mud monster. There are exfoliating minerals and sand crystals in the mud that will leave your skin soft and glowing like a newborn. I highly recommend wearing a darker-colored swimsuit. The mud washes out eventually, but it takes a while.

The Grotto

The Grotto is such a fun and relaxing experience, whether you do it alone, with your plus 1 or a larger group. Here is what you can expect from The Grotto:

You take an elevator down to an underground cave. First, your whole body will be lathered with a nutritious blend of warmed coconut oil, shea butter, eucalyptus, aloe vera, and lavender. Then you will move on to a heated cave, where your skin will soak up all the nutrients of your full body mask as you simply sit back and relax. When you are ready, you rinse off and move to a cooler cave, where you cool off with some water, tea, and fresh fruit.

Spa Treatments

The Salon at Glen Ivy offers all the typical day spa treatments and some special ones as well. Full body and hydro massages, an ayurvedic treatment, facials, nail treatments, and even specific offers just for men are on offer at the spa. Take a look at their offers here>>

Hydro Massage

I received a 20-minute hydro massage, my first one ever. If you never had one, here is what to expect: You lay down on a massage chair and select on the screen in front of you the intensity, speed, and body regions that you want to have massaged. You can also select a soundscape, mediation, or music and even play games. The massage feels a bit like when you are sitting in front of a strong jet in the jacuzzi that moves around your backside. My back loved it!

“Sound of Color” Pedicure

I also got a “Sound of Color” pedicure – a pedicure with a fun twist. First, you pick your color, then you sit down on your salon chair and you receive headphones and an iPhone. Your color is coordinated with a special meditation that you can listen to while you get your nails done. I am usually very ticklish and I don’t enjoy getting a pedicure too much. While I don’t know if was the meditation or the talent of my nail technician Tammy, this was by far the most enjoyable pedicure I have ever had.

Fitness Classes, Meditation & Yoga

Glen Ivy offers two daily aqua fitness classes, as well as a meditation and a yoga session each day. Please see the schedule below.

12 PM – Aqua Tone

We had a special session of Face Yoga with Ginger Marie Corwin in my favorite spot at Glen Ivy, the Secret Garden. Doesn’t it look magical?

Restaurants at Glen Ivy Hot Springs

There are four restaurants and bars at Glen Ivy Hot Springs, each unique and with a specific menu. They offer a wide variety of dishes catering to many different dietary needs and preferences. They are also happy to customize a dish to make it just right for you. No matter what you choose, the restaurants offer good food, with fresh and healthy ingredients.

Ivy Kitchen: This is the main restaurant, which offers delicious and healthy meals. Take a look at their Prix-fixe menu, which has lots of mouthwatering options, including hearty vegetarian and vegan meal choices. I had the vegan ceviche and the flavors and textures were very close to the real thing. Amazing.

The Warm-Up Zone/Chill Zone: Looking for a healthy and refreshing smoothie? Then come to the Zone and get your fill of fruity yumminess or warm up with a cup of cozy hot chocolate or soup.

Lounge 1860: After a busy day relaxing at Glen Ivy, treat yourself to a glass of bubbly or a fancy cocktail at Lounge 1860.
