A favorite bowling alley of ours is Punch Bowl Social in downtown San Diego.
The venue successfully amalgamates a fun bar setting, traditional snacks, local craft beers, and interactive games into one building. It’s a fun concept that attracts all kinds of people, from those on a date night to family gatherings.
Besides the array of lanes to play, Punch Bowl Social has a plethora of arcades with old time classics, ping pong tables, foosball tables, and a karaoke section. There’s even games like connect four, darts, Jenga, and shuffleboard, the list goes on.
Happy hour is when Punch Bowl Social really comes alive. The alley employs a skilled team of mixologists always ready to shake up your favorite cocktails to wash down with dinner.
It’s no wonder this is one of the most popular spots for bowling in San Diego.
Tavern + Bowl East Village

The exclusive Tavern + Bowl East Village is situated on Market Street and features 12 spacious bowling lanes for you to enjoy. But that’s not all, there’s a gorgeous restaurant on site with plenty of HDTVs where you can watch the game with an ice cold beer.
They always have happy hours and specials, especially for sporting events, so you know exactly when to plan your trip there.
Each of the lanes at Tavern + Bowl East Village can hold up to six people, and twelve are permitted per reservation, which isn’t too bad at all.
Reservations must be made at least one week in advance, and prices vary depending on the day.
Mira Mesa Lanes
Decades ago, Mira Mesa opened its doors to those in San Diego County and has since become one of the most popular bowling alleys in the region. The owners have one goal, and one goal only, to provide a welcoming space with a relaxed ambiance for people of all ages to hit their strikes.
Mira Mesa has something for all skill sets. Whether you have a little one ready to learn or you’re a bit of a professional and would like to compete in a tournament, there’s something for you.

Next up, we have a student favorite, Aztec Lanes, which is located on campus at San Diego State University. It’s not just for college goers, though, outsiders can play here too.
Aztec Lanes has gained a lot of popularity in recent years for their incredible deals. For example, SDSU students get to play two free games per day, and kids go free all throughout the summer. You won’t get that at any other bowling alley in San Diego.
Children will particularly like Aztec Lanes because of the additional entertainment available after they’ve had their fill of bowling. Games available include table tennis, air hockey, and even game consoles like PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
Fancy learning how to bowl the right way? Aztec Lanes holds beginner classes from Monday to Friday. Who knows? You could end up competing in one of their leagues.
Admiral Robinson Bowling Center San Diego

The center was originally created as entertainment for soldiers stationed in the area, and eventually opened to the public.
The state-of-the-art venue has a high-end pro shop, meeting areas, a relaxing lounge, arcade, cafe, game room, and full bar. You could easily spend the whole day here with your family.
Active duty members are allowed to bowl on their break, and the alleys are open for everyone from 9 AM every day. Additionally, it’s quite a cheap place to bowl. One game only costs $4 per person, or you can rent a lane for an hourly rate of $20.
Do you have an event coming up, or do you know someone who does? The Admiral Robinson Center’s party packages may be of interest to you. For a set fee, you can get 90 minutes of bowling time, five pairs of shoes to rent, one large pepperoni pizza, and five soda fountain drinks. Sounds like a good deal, right?

Now something for the adults. BreakPoint is a short stroll away from gorgeous Pacific Beach and features a pristine alley with four premium bowling lanes.
This alley is more of a vibrant bar, hence why we recommend it for an older crowd rather than families. After 8 pm, it’s 21+, but anyone can play before that.
BreakPoint visitors can only book between 1 – 2 hours, depending how busy it is. Although they do accept walk-ins, it’s better to book in advance. They don’t have much availability compared to other options we have mentioned.
In addition to the bowling alley, BreakPoint also provides ample nighttime entertainment like live bands, musicians, and DJs. On Tuesdays, they hold a Taco Tuesday event with $3 tacos and $7 Margaritas, and every Wednesday, there’s a Beer Pong Tournament.
Bowlero Chula Vista

Bowlero Chula Vista houses a whopping 48 bowling lanes with a hip design. The alley includes creative features like black lights, cushion lounge seating, and mesmerizing HD video walls showcasing a mix of the latest sporting events and family movies.
Reserve your lane on Bowlero Chula Vista’s website to avoid waiting around. Visitors are allowed to reserve up to two lanes, with six guests allocated per lane.
For the duration of your booking, you can play as many times as you want, but once time runs out, it’s game over.
Bowling isn’t the only thing to do at Bowlero Chula Vista. There’s also a deluxe arcade filled with all kinds of games, a premium billiards table, and a club-like sports bar serving fine wines, fruity cocktails, and domestic and foreign beers.
The specials at Bowlero Chula Vista are truly enticing, with promotions such as 10% off lanes and half-price arcade games mid-week. Be sure to get Kevin Hart’s favorite margarita from the sleek sports bar, you can take it to the lane if you like.

Parkway Bowl is a fun bowling space for the whole family in El Cajon. It’s known for its cosmic bowling style with unique glow-in-the-dark lanes that will fill the kiddos with excitement.
Parkway Bowl’s cosmic bowling only has slots available at either 6:30 pm or 9:00 pm. During this time, visitors play unlimited rounds for up to two hours, but you’ll need six people in your group to do so.
Alternatively, visitors can play a standard game of bowling from 9 am until 11 pm, Sunday to Thursday, or until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. There are different prices for different times, so check out their website for more booking information.
Like the other bowling alleys in San Diego, Parkway Bowl has a number of additional amenities to enjoy throughout your visit. The Parkway Bowl Cafe & Bar has a great food menu and 16 beers on draft.
Additionally, there’s an onsite games room and family billiards room, even a laser tag arena open every day from 5 PM – 12 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
