The stunning Julian Lodge has been serving tourists since 1985. It’s placed nicely just off Main Street, and only an hour’s drive from San Diego.
Around the corner is the lovely Regulars Wanted Coffee House and the tasty Soups & Such Cafe. You won’t have to go far for a bite to eat.
Julian Lodge has 23 carefully designed guest rooms with five styles to choose from. Each room is newly renovated and boasts homey-styled wooden decor, double beds with crisp linens and plush mattresses, refrigerators, coffee machines, and much more.
Paid parking is available at the Julian Lodge for $5, which isn’t too bad.
Another feature we really like about the Julian Lodge is that it’s pet friendly. Just be aware, those bringing a furry friend will have to pay a fee of $35, and pets aren’t allowed in the rooms alone.
If planning to take on the notorious Pacific Crest Trail, the Julian Lodge is well-geared up for hikers. During peak hiking season, they offer laundry facilities and even a free-to-use community supply box.

If you’re struggling to decide where to stay in Julian, look no further than the Julian Gold Rush Hotel.
Dating back to the 1890s, this delightful property will have you feeling as though you’re back in the gold rush era. In fact, it’s the oldest accommodation in the entire town, but it doesn’t feel that way at all.
Showcasing quintessential Victorian furnishings and rich interiors, the 16 guestrooms and cottages are like something from a castle.
Each room has its own unique style. But generally speaking, you can expect American antique queen-sized beds, lavish bathrooms with marble showers and plinth sinks. Plus stone patios or porches with clear vistas of the popular Main Street area.
All guests staying at Julian Gold Rush Hotel are treated to a two-course complimentary breakfast each morning, free-to-read newspapers, and unlimited use of high-speed Wi-Fi.
Nothing is more relaxing than chilling out in the private garden as the sun rises. All while indulging in a bowl of homemade granola and reading the paper.

Perched on a craggy hill with a breathtaking view of Lake Cuyamaca, the property’s location exceeds all expectations. Especially if you’re after an escape immersed in nature. The 20 spa-themed guest rooms at Quiet Mind Mountain Lodge are more like private paradises.
Those lucky enough to stay in one of these rooms will relish queen sized beds dressed with luxury down sheets and pillows, and modern bathrooms with spacious bathtubs and signature bath products. Not to mention, Himalayan salt rock lamps with aromatherapy oils and yoga mats.
During your stay, unwind in the spa with a refreshing massage or a rejuvenating treatment. Get your morning stretch on during a morning yoga class, or spoil yourself with a plant-based meal prepared by a professional chef. Follow all this by spending your nights gazing at the stars from the outdoor jacuzzi which overlooks a quiet lake.

Apple Tree Inn

The Apple Tree Inn isn’t like the other Julian bed & breakfasts. It’s located on gorgeous grounds with clear mountainscapes everywhere you look, and it’s only five minutes from Julian Town.
Across the road, you’ll find the tasty Heroes Wood-Fired Pizzeria and the California Mountain Bakery. Both are well worth a look during your holiday.
The property has been recently remodeled. It now features queen-sized beds, a fully stocked kitchenette, cozy couches, patios, AC and heating units, plus Keurig coffee makers.
Another thing we loved about the Apple Tree Inn was the range of bespoke facilities.
The outdoor swimming pool was excellent for cooling down after a full day in the Californian sun. Plus, there’s high-speed Wi-Fi was available throughout the complex, and the picnic areas were fantastic for daily lunch from Jeremy’s On The Hill, located next door.
There are quite a few room types available here, but our personal favorite is the three bedroom Farmhouse. Yes, it’s a bit more expensive, but it’s geared toward bigger groups and absolutely worth the extra few bucks.
No matter the room, you’re sure to enjoy your stay here.
The Tucker Peak Lodge

Located in the heart of the Julian countryside, Tucker Peak Lodge is a small, six room property. It’s set amongst rolling mountains and lush green forests and is only a six-minute drive from Julian Town.
Every guest room is exquisitely appointed with charming wooden features. The aesthetic follows a cozy lake house vibe, and provides best-in-class amenities which will make your stay all the more comfortable. This includes king-size beds, ample indoor seating areas, fireplaces, flatscreen TVs, and much more.
This is the perfect accommodation if you’re traveling with a large group, as there are a few room options which cater to big numbers. For example, the Family Suite holds four people, and the Six Bedroom House can take up to 20 occupants.
Similar to other hotels on this list, Tucker Peak Lodge has plenty of facilities for visitors to enjoy during their vacation.
Cook your meals in the modern common kitchen, equipped with a microwave and other appliances. The laundry facilities are open at various times of day and are available to use upon request.
The outdoor deck is a superb location for a glass of wine after a long day exploring the Julian countryside. It’s one of the many features which makes this a favorite among Julian, California hotels.

You can’t go wrong with a stay at the Oak Hill Inn. Newly opened in 2021 by an adorable local couple, you’ll really get that welcoming feeling immediately upon walking through the doors.
The property is hidden away, just a short walk from town. It’s close to an abundance of dining options, like Fat Anthonys Italian Delicatessen and the Julian Pie Company, it’s hard to find a flaw in Oak Hill’s location.
The Oak Hill Inn only has three guest rooms, and they’ve gone above and beyond to ensure these are of the highest quality. The special attention guarantees all guests a magnificent stay.
The queen suites provide great value for the money. They have all the amenities you could ask for, like a flatscreen cable TV, kitchenette, mini fridge, Keurig coffee machine, free in-room Wi-Fi, and much more.
You’ll thoroughly enjoy the Inn’s outstanding facilities. The property has a nice outdoor swimming pool lined with sun loungers and umbrellas, delightful picnic areas, bike and fishing rod rentals, tea and coffee services, and free on-site parking.
Top notch facilities combined with a convenient location, walking distance to wineries, restaurants, bars, and pie shops, the Oak Hill Inn really does have it all.
